Daniel O'Connell's Sons, Inc. contacted me about their website in May of 2009. By August, we had a signed contract, an aggressive timeline, and a full project scope. The site is my largest freelance project to date, and I'm very happy with it.
To meet DOC's needs, I chose to build their website on Expression Engine. This is my first project to launch on EE and I was very impressed with the system.
The site includes numerous portfolio items completed by the engineering firm over their 170-year history. Each portfolio item has its own page, description, and photo slideshow.
This project taught me quite a bit about the need to fully understand a client's market in order to deliver the best web-solution possible. Having that fundamental understanding can affect the website's direction starting on day one.
